The Razor Strop became a fixture of the 19th century American barber shops where, according to the jingle, one could receive a "shave and a haircut, for two bits" (twenty five cents)
The nineteenth century barber sharpened his straight razor on the strop, gradually softening the stiff cowhide until it could no longer forge an edge on the razor. Then the strop found its way into the home, where it enjoyed a second life as a fixture of parental discipline. In the American vernacular of the last century, the razor strop equated to the British cane. Generations of young men and women received the correction that they needed to grow into solid citizens of the burgeoning young republic, thanks to this formidable disciplinary tool.

These are fine brand spanking new examples of the strops used in the last century and will be cherished by collectors of such.

We have been working some time to come up with an original slapper type strap. A multi purpose implement we first made over a year ago but felt it was missing something. So over the last year we have developed it into a really great strap, strop, slapper. Made of two separate pieces of 9-11 oz British Harness Leather joined at the end with ruler strap type handle. One strap has a smooth plain finish, while the other has a series of eight 1/4 inch holes placed near to the business end "ouch" This strap is 16 long by 1.3/4 inches wide. The ruler strap type handle provides a good grip and a D ring for hanging. this is a very versatile strap. and for the recipient definitely double trouble.

Barbers Double Razor Strop 18 by 2 inches

Old fashioned Razor Strop just like the one that used to be in all homes in the 40s and 50s and felt across many a naughty boy or girls bare backside. This is a fine example of a double strop. Made in 10-12 oz (4-5 mm) imported British Harness Leather it is 18 inches long has two tails a 5.1/2 hand stitched reinforced and raised handle attached to a D ring. its edges are marked with a saddlers crease line and are fully beveled and banished to smooth finish. Another fine collectors item for the serious.

Spanking Strop.

This Strap is very much like a refined copy of Daddy or Mommy's Belt or Razor strop. The sound of the impact will command respect and obedience, to say nothing of the feel! The 17 inch strop is best used for a very sound Over The Knee spanking. The longer 20 inch strop delivers more of a sting since it requires swinging room. It is the perfect strop to punish a standing or inclined misbehaving victim. The overall length is doubled with a thickness of 1/4+ inch! It is Ideal for chastising that naughty boy or girl. Made of the finest quality 10-12 oz (4-5mm) imported British Harness Leather, with a rounded 6 inch reinforced, hand saddle-stitched handle. It is has fully beveled, burnished and finished edges with a harness crease line around the outside. It's an ideal deterrent for hanging on display. Corporal Punishment Ruler Strap

This simple but effective, devastatingly thick but flexible Ruler strap is great for reaching those hard to get at areas. It is made of thick 14-16 oz (5-6mm) Heavy It is 16 x I inches it is both thick, flexible and wicked. The handle length has been increased and is triple thickness for a better grip, also the end has been rounded for better effect. There is a 3/4 inch nickel D ring by which to hang it as a deterrent to all who misbehave. A saddlers crease line runs around the strap and all the edges are beveled, burnished and finished.
Another use of the ruler is on the calves of the legs. Even the lightest ruler will administer stinging chastisement to the sensitive area. This punishment is usually given to small children, but is excellent for girls of all ages and has a healthy humiliating effect on the older girl who is rather too full of herself. For this purpose it has the great merit of hurting much more than the onlooker might suppose, often causing a great girl of 16 to wince or gasp at her "baby punishment".
